0 degrees is also considered "North" for purposes of relative map directions on the station.
The main elevator suites for the station are within the "point" of Alpha Quadrant, allowing for high-speed access to the Medical, Science, Maintenance, Storage, Flight, Executive, and Engineering levels. They do not directly access the Reactor, Security, and Bridge levels due to security reasons. These levels can be reached via elevators located elsewhere on their adjoining decks. Other elevators also span the main decks to allow for ease of access during peak hours.
The main Service Elevator allows transportation between decks of heavy equipment and oversized cargo containers. It is accessible from the central core on all levels, save for the Reactor and Bridge levels. The Service Elevator is much larger than the other elevators, and has a measurably larger and thicker set of doors, similar to ones used on the flight decks and cargo hold airlocks.
[UltraCray CPU Nodes]
SHODAN, the Streamlined Hyper Optimized Data Access Network, manages all automated and data management systems aboard Citidas Station, allowing the human occupants to concern themselves with more important things than routine upkeep tasks. Each deck has a suite of UltraCray "Computer Nodes" that assist in management of that deck's systems, and are constantly polled by SHODAN for any anomalies. The deck security cameras, prominently mounted in all major hallway intersections and large rooms, allow for rapid pinpointing of trouble spots for TriOp Security, Maintenance, and Engineering divisions. Terminals in every room allow for any crew member to query SHODAN.
The Reactor level of Space Station Citidas is the lowest deck on the station. It contains the master controls and upper connection hardpoints for the Reactor, which powers all of the station's systems. Master override controls of the energy management systems are located here, as well as half of the redundant environmental systems (the remainder of these systems are on the Engineering level). There is very little practical decoration on the Reactor Level.
The Alpha Quadrant of the Reactor level contains a low-gravity experimentation area, set up to allow for microgravity and manipulation experiments by the staff with the new gravity generators. The master controls and master power trunks for the station's gravity generator network are also housed here. There is a small, tempest and radiation shielded computer terminal room near the outside of Alpha Quadrant.
The Beta Quadrant of the Reactor level contains several storerooms holding various repair and maintenance equipment, as well as extra radiation suits. There is a dedicated medical bay in this quadrant, allowing for rapid treatment of injuries caused by radiation poisoning and mechanical injury. This medical bay includes a high-level radiation detoxification booth, and an autodoc suite. The entire medical bay and storerooms are shielded against any stray reactor radiation emissions, and this shielding extends to the Elevator that leads to Level 1 (Medical). There is also an engineering office within the shielded area.
The Gamma Quadrant of the Reactor level contains waste recycling and heat exchangers for the reactor. It also holds the suite containing the four SHODAN Computer Nodes.
The Reactor level's Delta Quadrant holds the master monitoring and override controls for the reactor. It also holds monitoring and override controls for other key environmental systems.
The Central Reactor Interface, located in the Reactor level Core, is the heaviest shielded section of the station. This is the upper portion of the Reactor, and provides all of the power needs for Citidas Station. In case there is a dire need to scuttle the station, the Reactor Overload Authorization Code is entered from this room, and can ONLY be entered from within the Reactor itself, physically, by hand. This is a High Radiation area, and radsuits *must* be worn by any personnel within the Reactor Core. The Reactor Overload code cannot be entered from any other terminal on the station. The authorization code is held only by the chief executive officer of the station, the chief security officer, the chief medical officer, the chief engineering officer, and the Board of Directors of TriOp Corporation.
The Medical level of Space Station Citidas provides the complete facilities of a fully modern Hospital in the modern world, as well as providing laboratories to perform medical research into the realms of unobtrusive bionic cybernetics, tissue and organ cloning, and viral pathology. The construction of the Medical level allows for total isolation of any section of the deck in the case of pathological contamination. The medical level itself is kept clean and antiseptic, but there are several concessions to human habitation due to various posters and artwork on hallway walls, and several small minigardens and potted plants inside reception areas or near recovery wards.
Medical Alpha Quadrant contains the majority of doctors offices and walk-in examination rooms for the Hospital deck. Dr. Gunther and Mira Stackhouse's offices are here, as well as a reception area for the offices proper. This reception area also adjoins the infirmary, which provides low-level health care for the station's crew. The suite containing the four SHODAN Computer Nodes is also in this quadrant.
Beta Quadrant contains the intensive care unit, the surgery suites, and the recovery wards for the medical level.
Gamma Quadrant contains more intensive care units and recovery wards, including the neural surgery and recovery suites, and the CryoSleep chamber usage, storage, and maintenance rooms. A separate power circuit is used to provide power to the CryoSleep chambers even in the case of a total power shutdown on the station. There is a reception area adjoining these rooms, and it has nearly direct access to the Core Service Elevator, due to the size of the average CryoSleep chamber.
Delta Quadrant contains the dedicated viral pathology, bionic cybernetics, and tissue and organ cloning labs, as well as the Autodoc suites. Maintenance equipment for the autodoc suites is stored here. The morgue is also located in Medical Delta Quadrant, and there are additional offices nearby.
The Medical Level Core allows access to all sections of the medical level and the Service Elevator. Dr. Nathan D'Arcy, the station's systems engineering liaison, and one of the designers of Citidas Station, has an office that overlooks the Core.
The Science Level is where the majority of the "soft" research efforts on Space Station Citidas take place (the remainder of the work is accomplished by the scientists and engineers on the Engineering Level). Various biological, mechanical, cybernetic, and robotics laboratories are arranged around this level, as well as astronomics, high-energy physics, and pharmacological research areas. Each lab is sealable for total isolation if necessary, like on the Medical Level, and there are also several Class-0 Clean Rooms. The level also provides offices for the science staff, briefing rooms and lecture halls. The publicly-accessible areas in the level are floored in red carpeting, and the walls themselves are pale blue and red walled with pale blue slashes. There is also the occasional potted plant or wall decoration.
Science Level Alpha Quadrant contains the majority of the level's researcher offices and briefing rooms. There is also a general-access terminal room in this Quadrant.
The Beta Quadrant of the Science Level contains the Science Level Administration offices of Warren Anderczyk (the Science Level Supervisor) and a convenient, up-to-date research library with extra computer terminals. There is also a small automated robotics manufacturing and maintenance area, which automatically repairs the maint-bots and serv-bots that populate the lower levels of the station. The six SHODAN Computer Nodes for this level are also kept in a locked, tempest-shielded room in this quadrant.
Gamma Quadrant contains a high-energy physics laboratory and an astrophysics laboratory used for the study of isotopes and planetary debris obtained around Saturn. Several of the smaller mechanical and biological laboratories are here as well.
The Delta Quadrant of the Science level contains more research labs, including several Class-0 Clean Rooms for fine-detail electronics work.
The Core of the Science Level serves as both meeting place and stellar observatory for the station's science staff. Heavy equipment can be brought in and out via the Service Elevator.
The Maintenance Level provides maintenance access and minor repair facilities for the systems across the station. Many key circuit junctures can be found within the restricted-access clean-rooms, each of which is accessible by a single door at the border of each quadrant. Maintenance equipment is also stored and repaired on this level. The level itself is very utilitarian, and no attempts have been made to 'pretty it up'.
Alpha Quadrant contains some recharge areas for the various minor robots, and some repair facilities.
Maintenance Beta Quadrant contains the office of Abe Ghiran, the Maintenance Level Supervisor. Adjacent to his office are the four SHODAN Computer Nodes that aid in monitoring the level's systems.
Gamma Quadrant contains the level's autodoc for first-aid treatment of injuries.
The Circuit Juncture Relay Analyzer in Maintenance Delta Quadrant allows for the analysis of the circuit relays within the Maintenance level's clean rooms without having to enter the clean rooms themselves.
The central core allows access to all sections of the Maintenance Level, and to the Service Elevator for the movement of heavy equipment and robotics.
The Storage Level provides various storerooms for Citidas Station, containing raw materials, foodstuffs, potable water, and manufactured goods. Like the Maintenance Level, this level is very utilitarian, with little decoration. The hallways are wide to accommodate the heavy lifter-bots that aid storage personnel.
Alpha Quadrant contains bulk goods storage, and the suite with the four SHODAN Computer Nodes.
Beta Quadrant contains the offices of Greg MacLeod, the Storage Level Supervisor, as well as the first-aid autodoc for this level. Small equipment storerooms are also in this quadrant.
Storage Level Gamma Quad contains more storerooms for manufactured goods for sale, and potable water storage.
Delta Quadrant contains yet more storerooms dedicated to a variety of goods and raw materials.
The Storage Level core provides easy access to the Service Elevator and provides enough space for use of the heavy Lifter-Bots.
[Flight Bay Entrance]
[Flight Deck Reception]
The Flight Deck of Citidas Station provides all the facilities needed to service and store various extra-station craft used to explore the nearby moons of Saturn and to perform exterior maintenance on the station. There is also sufficient room to accommodate docking with the large cargo vessels that make the biweekly and monthly trips from Rhadamanthys and Bernal Alpha, respectively. There are 6 main flight bays, two each straddling the borders of Alpha, Beta, and Delta quadrant. The station's main lifepods are accessible in the junctures between the flight bays, as well as within the maintenance and storage bays for spacecraft located at the border of Gamma quadrant. The Flight Deck is utilitarian, but the central core and reception areas have been suitably decorated so as to provide a welcoming experience to any newcomers to Space Station Citidas.
Alpha Quadrant contains Flight Bays 4 and 5, personnel check-in for flight bays 3 and 4, and Lifepods between bays 3 and 4 and between bays 4 and 5.
[Flight Bay 6]
Flight Deck Beta Quadrant contains Flight Bay 6, and personnel check-in for Flight Bays 5 and 6. The level's local autodoc suite is also in this quadrant. Flight bay 6 has access to temporary cargo facilities and the maintenance and repair depot for craft stored in Gamma quadrant. Lifepods are between Flight Bays 5 and 6.
Gamma Quadrant contains Flight Bay 1, the Flight Deck Communications and Monitoring room, as well maintenance depots for the various flight vehicles accessible in Flight Bays 1 and 6. The six SHODAN Computer Nodes are contained here as well. Lifepods are on the border to Gamma Quadrant.
[Flight Bay 3]
Flight Deck Delta Quadrant contains Flight Bays 2 and 3 and personnel checkin for Flight Bays 1 and 2. Lifepods are on the border to Delta Quadrant and between Flight Bays 2 and 3, and a small general-access terminal room also exists in this area. Delta Quadrant also holds an executive-level reception area, boardroom, and several offices.
The Flight Deck core has reception facilities for the docking bays, cargo handling equipment, and direct access to the Service Elevator on the lower section of the flight deck for the ease of moving cargo.
The Executive Level of Citidas Station contains the crew and executive quarters for the station personnel, and has the best living conditions of all the station's levels. Tasteful wood paneling and quality carpeting lines the common areas and meeting rooms. The arboretum Groves provide a relaxing getaway from the stresses of corporate life among the imported plants and animals that have been artfully arranged. There are shops and eateries near the central core that allow for a variety of purchases, although all of them are essentially owned by TriOp. The borders of each quadrant provide a lobby and airlock elevator access to each of the four Groves, as well as the Jettison Switch for that Grove (only accessible via security access).
To jettison a grove, one must first enter the desired Grove and flip the security-locked Jettison Enable switch within. Then the Jettison Enable Master Control in Gamma Quadrant must be triggered. Then, the Jettison Switch for the Grove will be functional, and the Grove can be detached from the station.
[Executive Dining Hall]
Executive Level Alpha Quadrant contains the executive crew quarter suites, and appropriately is the best decorated of the Executive Level quadrants. The executive cafeteria features themed dining in a variety of culinary styles, including "Stromboli's", the Italian food line. There are several small offices and conference rooms in this quadrant, as well as the Autodoc for this level.
Beta Quadrant contains the spartan security crew quarters, and more administrative facilities. There is a public-access terminal room here.
Executive Level Gamma Quadrant contains the regular crew quarters and commissary. A dispensary and several small shops are near the core for the purchase of personal items. The six SHODAN Computer Nodes that help monitor this level of the station are contained within a restricted access suite.
Delta Quadrant contains the remainder of the regular crew quarters, the station's chapel, and the executive viewing lounge (which allow for multimedia presentations and movies in a spectacular starry milieu.)
The Executive Level Core provides maintenance access for the systems on the Executive Level, as well as access to the Service Elevator. These areas are not usually visited by station personnel, and are instead patrolled by various robots (as are the maintenance hallways of the other levels).
The Engineering Level is the heart of Citidas Station's systems engineering division. Heavy industry research (for robotics and aerospace) takes place here, as well as coordination and support for the efforts that take place on the Science and Maintenance Levels. There are four main antenna arrays at the borders to the four quadrants that allow for communications with any craft in Saturn's local space, as well as provide a stable platform for the station's radio astrophysics research. Adjacent to the antenna arrays are the interfaces for the four Internet Gamma Quantum Radio Transmitter/ Receiver pairs (the opposite ends of which are in TriOp Headquarters in Radminton, CA, USA), which allow for instantaneous communications with Earth via Internet Gamma. The hallways of the Engineering Level are wide to accommodate heavy cargo containers and large robots. The rooms on the Engineering Level are decorated as the need arises.
Alpha Quadrant contains several labs for experimental research and development, as well as briefing rooms and offices. Arnold Hessman, the Systems Engineering Supervisor, also has his offices in this Quadrant.
Engineering Level Beta Quadrant contains storerooms, engineering laboratories, and heavy robot repair bays. There is also a secondary backup experimental reactor in this quadrant, heavily shielded, which requires a radsuit to monitor and perform maintenance.
Gamma Quadrant is the center of the station's computer network. The System Administrator's office, as well as those of his assistants, are here, as well as the "Programmer's Bullpen", filled with cubicles for the various programmers. Six SHODAN Computer Nodes are next to Willard Ritchie's office for ease of access. Near the core is the Autodoc for the level.
The Engineering Level's Delta Quadrant provides engineering systems monitoring rooms, weapons testing facilities, laboratories, and more maintenance rooms.
The Central Core of the Engineering Level provides easy access to the Service Elevator for all sections and floors of Engineering.
The TriOp security teams operate from their base on the Security Level. The majority of the weapons and armed robots are stored and recharged on this deck, in the case of an emergency. The deck itself is unusually high for its narrow width, since it also serves as the main structural member that supports the Bridge Level. The majority of the security facilities are on the upper tier, with a good view of the level's core.
Alpha Quadrant contains the primary elevator to the bridge of Space Station Citidas.
Beta Quadrant holds several security offices, including that of Lonni Stevens, David Honig's lieutenant. There is also a wardroom in this quadrant, and the station's holding cells.
There is a general-access terminal room in this quadrant, as well as the 6 SHODAN Computer Nodes.
[David Honig's Office]
Security Level Delta Quadrant holds the office of the Chief of Security, David Honig. It also contains the sealed storerooms with the station's experimental weaponry, and several interrogation rooms.
The Security Level Core contains the robot maintenance and recharge bay, near the Security Elevator. A retractable catwalk bridge on the upper levels allow access from the security level to the elevator that takes personnel up to the elevator to the bridge level, preventing unauthorized employees from tampering with bridge functions.
The Bridge Level of Space Station Citidas allows for the centralized management of all station systems. The Bridge Level is also capable of detaching from the rest of the station to serve as its own self-powered and propelled lifepod.
The Alpha Quadrant of the Bridge Level holds executive offices and emergency bunkrooms.
Emergency supplies and equipment are stored in bays in Delta Quadrant.
The secondary power source for the bridge level is accessible through this quadrant, if one has a radsuit.
There is a small auxiliary terminal room in Delta Quadrant, which allows for secondary programs to be loaded into the station's systems, including SHODAN.
The Core of the Bridge Level contains the station's master monitoring equipment, and the central CPU and terminal access for SHODAN.
The following is an approximate breakdown of the crew of Space Station Citidas:
