[The week passes. Probably at this point, go onto the next file. (ashes.ember.5.txt)] [Probably already noting her increasing tan.] [Probably also have Corrine note to Catherine that they BETTER add some auto-controlled shutters to the Royal Suites to allow for darkness, or else Corrine's going to go quietly batty without her RDA of 'Night'. Can play up Amberite/Emberite reactions to night and darkness here.] [Several days later, in the gym, Corrine goes to work out and work off some of her nervous energy. She meets Misaki, commander of the Royal Bodyguard, and Eowyn (again, severely unsettling Corrine due to the similarity to her long-dead sister).] [Morgenstern challenges Corrine. Corrine takes him up on it, they spar, and Morgenstern gets thrashed, and also becomes very jovial. Clearly, they'll get along fine.] [The formal investiture scene, and swearing of fealty, etc. Corrine's more than a little weirded out by the psuedo-shadow of her mother and sister pledging loyalty, but somehow manages to go through with it.] [During the middle of the ceremony, before Corrine's about to do anything, the -Pyricorn- appears at the end of the Great Hall, the Fire DemiJewel hanging around its neck (wasn't it just in its open padded case a moment ago, to be handed from Catherine to Corrine? Well, it -was-...). It walks down the length of the room, EVERYBODY staring and totally silent, Corrine herself agape. It reaches the front of the hall, at the base of the dias, and -kneels- on its forelegs, maneuvering its head so that the jewel and chain end up on the point of its horn, and then stands again, looking -straight at Corrine-. Corrine hesitantly gets out of the throne, walks down the steps, and puts the Jewel around her neck.] [The pyricorn then 'announces' (its lips don't move, but everyone -hears- it...) that Corrine is the rightful Queen of Ember, and long may her reign be, for as long as the stars burn in the skies and the Patterns thrive.] Corrine, Daughter of Gendo, son of Fuyutsuki. Corrine, Daughter of Haruka, daughter of Darien and Serena. Corrine, Princess of Amber, Warden of Arden. Corrine the First, Rightful Queen of Ember. Long may your reign be, Just and Fair. As long as the stars burn in the skies of Amber. As long as the Fire Pattern thrives. [The Pyricorn then vanishes in a burst of flame, leaving 4 hoofprints scortched in the tiles of the Great Hall. People manage to recover their wits, and the scene continues.] [Include Corrine and Catherine and the Red Knight going to the Van Gogh exhibit opening? -- prolly not, things would have already been too 'busy' at this point]
