S.M.A.S.H. (www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/7614/)
Expanded, that's Sailor Moon fans Against Smut and Hentai (shurely
SMFASH? -- ed.). Running on a much smaller scale than hentaiFREE,
their mission statement is about as useful and well-justified as hF's
was prior to July 1999 ("Smut & hentai is anything relating to adult
images and materials. And I use the term "adult" very lightly. Adults
shouldn't even be involved with that trash!"), and their membership
is limited to four people. Warning: background midi on the front page.
Anime
Central's Anti-Hentai Web Club (www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Shrine/4803/club.html)
"As you know, the web is filled with Hentai (nude) sites, and among
these are SAILOR MOON ONES, how rude! Being a true Sailor Moon fan, it
upsets me when I go on a search engine (such as Yahoo!)
and type in 'Sailor Moon,' and get a bunch of hentai sites. Now, that's
were we come in!" There is very little which one can say to that
-- short of pointing out instances of nudity in Sailormoon, but we suspect
he takes "nude" to mean "nekkid and up to something"
-- however, we are confused as to how being a "true" SM fan
precludes looking at SM hentai. We are also interested in learning the
maintainer's knack, as our search efforts tend to turn up dreadful pages
concerning the DIC dub, and we would like to see more pictures of Haruka
with her kit off, please. Trade? Warning: background midi on the front
page; crashes Netscape 4.5 under X on Linux systems.
Anti-Hentai
Club (www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Bay/2116/antihentai.html)
Yes, this is another, distinct group; it seems to have been started by
Final Fantasy otaku. A vague reference is made which implies that hentai
is not the only issue at work: "Square.Net was almost gone, because
of some perverted person who just had to blame someone..." We suspect
that we are missing a key piece of context in some internal politics.
At face value, their problem with hentai is confusing at best: "Beautiful
anime women have lost their innocence, due to this nonsense...for what?
This is sick, it's perverted, and it has caused so much for innocent people...
THIS is the reason why anime has been rejected by some people." No
doubt there are some people who reject anime as a genre because of hentai
-- the director of the BBFC and the British public in general among them
-- but does that justify wanting rid of the genre as a whole? And how
are supposedly innocent fictional female characters deflowered, for example,
by yaoi? Furthermore, are all female characters in hentai initially innocent
by default?
Goku's
Anti-Hentai Page (www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Subway/7151/Anti_Hentai.html)
Limited view of what hentai is: "[...S]ome sick people have not only
corrupted the internet with it, they also make people think anime is disgusting.
These people will talk[sic] any innocent anime character, redraw
them naked and post it one[sic] a web page, that ladies and gentelmen[sic],
is Hentai." The web ring apparently associated with this page does
not appear to exist. How sic.
