17 February 2000: Links submitted since 6 January are now in place; I'm hoping to get remaining essays and portions of the graphics library sorted in the next couple of weeks. I've gotten myself a job, so will be trying to cram all the work in before starting on 6 March.
So, have you seen hentaiFREE lately? Neither have we -- it's down for renovations. In an interesting development, it's renaming itself "Sites Without Hentai" (not likely to cause a name change in ourselves; we're hardly all sites WITH hentai!) and it's not clear whether this means any refocusing will be taking place, or if we're just getting a face lift.
06 January 2000: Whew! We expected this one to be done by Boxing Day; sorry about that ... hentaiFREEfree has gone through some restructuring and redesign. H-debate specific material now lives in the STOPwatch section; most everything else is where it used to be in some form or another.
We're not done, but, rather than wait until everything was completed, it seemed best to put up the bulk of the work. We still have a couple of essays left to go (including Bob King's piece on WC-20 for STOPwatch). The link image gallery still needs quite a bit of indexing work (indices by authors are not ready; some series are still in the "old format", complete with outdated backlinks -- the back button is your friend, guys) and not all approved submissions are in yet, but it's at least serviceable. We have a few independent reaction pieces to index. The resources section is still a bit empty. Things like that. But we're back, and that's what counts. :)
Around spring, we plan on opening our creative effort: a zine, tentatively called Hardsuit. We're hoping for the bastard child of Animerica (the Viz magazine, not the porn site!) and Nerve, and could use your ideas and input; take a look at what's up now. (A Hardsuit-specific email address is listed.) We've already got some interesting things planned.
Since opening in summer '99, the response to HFF has been far more positive than we ever anticipated; I'd like to thank those people who've supported us in all sorts of different ways, and those who've been willing to hear both sides of the argument.
From here, it's going to get even more interesting...
