Distribution is scheduled to close on 4/30/00. I will be moving after graduation, so I need to get everything completed and packed. I have no idea if/when distribution will re-open.
1] I have decided to allow anime fans to acquire copies from me through a
distribution service. I want you to realize that this is a
service, not a business. I am asking you to be
considerate of me, because I am medical student, meaning that I really
don't have much free time. School mostly consists of clinical rotations
(i.e., working in clinics and on the hospital wards), so my schedule
varies on a weekly basis. This means that turnaround time will vary
depending on what service I am on at that time. However, I will try to
keep distribution open and see how things go.
2] When you send in your request, please provide the following information (see the example at the bottom of this page):
EXPLANATIONS
Titles Requested
Request Method
It may take anywhere from 1 day to 1 week to get a reply about your request. PLEASE do not send any additional e-mails until it has been over 1 week since you sent in your original request.
3] Here are the costs (in US Dollars) of a request based on the number of
tapes. Please note that Priority Mail has increased by $0.20, which
is the cause of the price increase for a request.
# of tapes | Tape Cost | Shipping | Total Cost |
---|---|---|---|
1 | $3.80 | $4.20 | $8.00 |
2 | $7.30 | $4.20 | $11.50 |
3 | $10.80 | $4.20 | $15.00 |
Add $1 to the total for each tape requiring me to use a T-160 (those
titles in yellow).
Shipping costs include postage for USPS Priority Mail ($3.20) and a
protective bubble mailer ($1).
For foreign orders, please contact me about shipping costs.
Also for foreign orders, all payments must be in CASH (US Dollars).
No foreign money orders accepted (including Canada).
4] Once I receive your request by e-mail, I will check it and send you a
message
letting you know if it is approved or if it needs to be revised and
resubmitted. If approved, you will receive my mailing address in the
message.
5] Once I receive your payment/tapes in the mail, you enter the
recording
queue. This means that the earlier I receive your request, the sooner I
can make your copies.
The time in the queue varies on how many requests are already in the
queue, how many of those have EP tapes, how much time I have to make
copies, etc. PLEASE do not send me any messages asking
"When are my tapes going to be copied?" or "Have you sent my tapes yet?",
unless it has been over 4 weeks since the date I have
received your
request. This date and others will be listed on the Distribution Status page, that will be updated
often.
6] Once the tapes are copied, they will be packaged at sent the next time I make a trip to the Post Office (usually once a week). Check the Distribution Status page to see what date your tapes were mailed.
7] I am asking that you wait one month from the day I send
your tapes before making another request. This is to allow me to
distribute to a greater number of fans. Please be considerate of your
fellow fans and patient with me. This 'Next Request' date will be
listed on the Distribution Status page.
8] Donations are appreciated but neither expected nor required.
Donations help with maintenance of VCRs and costs of translations.
10] Please DO NOT get someone else to request additonal tapes for you. This is called a 'gang hit' and I do not appreciate it. Be patient and you will get your tapes as quickly as possible. For more information about 'gang hits' and 'distributor abuse', please read this section of the FANSUB FAQ.
